•Original thread design for wood working.
•Double lead thread design offers fast driving time.
•Large shank diameter provides maximum strength and makes thread design ideal for use in hardwoods.
Length - There is no hard and fast rule concerning screw length requirements. As a general "rule of thumb" the screw should always go through the thinner piece and thread into the thicker piece. Try to have two thirds of the screw threaded into the "secondary" piece. Use longer sizes for assembly applications in particleboard and softwoods. Our longer lengths are threaded 2/3" to eliminate cross threading.
FACT: For light construction it is recommended a minimum 1" of thread penetration plus the material thickness. Simply put, the more threads engaged, the greater holding power.
